David and Kelly Rogers

After serving as a pastor in the Presbyterian Church in America for 25 years, David and his wife, Kelly, have responded to the need to serve the next generation of pastors in East Africa. They are excited to come alongside Malawi church planter Confex Makhalira and his wife, Mwai, to help train this next generation of pastors and their wives as they plant churches in Malawi.

June 2025 Update
  • Please pray we will prepare well spiritually and have healthy rhythms of life that promote personal holiness and happiness in the Lord.
  • Please pray, in the words of Ed Welch, that “we face Jesus and help others do the same.”
  • Please pray from Hebrews 13:16 for us: “Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.

  • Please pray Dave’s trip to Malawi, March 4-13, is fruitful and that Lily might be able to join him.

  • Please pray we have wisdom in gathering resources to use to help train and nurture those we will work with.

  • Please pray from Colossians 3:15 “And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful.” Please pray Christ’s peace rules our hearts as we face the challenges ahead. Please pray we remain thankful to the Lord even in the disappointments and difficulties as we transition to our new home.
